It's summer (almost)

Yesterday was my last day with kids.  After two days of post-planning/packing all of my stuff it will be time for summer vacation and I am sooo excited.  This year was not a sad last day of school since I'm looping up with my class.  Instead it was more like OK well I'll see you after a while.  Don't get me wrong I still cherished the hugs as they left but no tears.  Usually I cry.  I am sad that not everyone is returning to my school in the fall so of course they won't be in next year's class but a majority of the kids will show up again on next year's roster and for that I am thankful.
On my summer break this year I have a small stack of "just for me" books (I don't like to refer to them as adult books because that sounds like they might be inappropriate and what I mean is not a children's book or a school/content book) to read.  I also have some favorites that I plan on rereading again this summer.  I am hoping to find all of the 4th grade secrets-so if you know any please pass them my way!  Last but not least I am hoping to tackle the SSYRA books for the 2013-2014 school year.  What about you?  Do you have summer plans?

  1. Looping with your kids sounds great. (I missed your earlier post about it.) That will make the transition to a new grade level easier. I look forward to hearing about your prep for the state writing test.
I have 'fun for me' reads too! My mom insists that I read Gone Girl. She said it is great.

PS. Good luck on the family planning. My hubby and I are on a similar journey and we finally figured out the reason for our infertility. It makes it easier to handle the rest of this process.

  3. Looking forward to hearing the SSYRA books this year. Inevitably the end up on our Battle Book list the following year. Apparently, we are always a year behind in my district. My big plans for the summer are to get back in the blogging rhythm AND get back in the grove of working out. Isn't summer grand? - Amanda
